Millwall manager Kenny Jackett has hinted that he may look to strengthen his squad further when the emergency loan window opens next week.

The Lions missed out on Swindon striker Charlie Austin after a deadline day bid for the hotshot failed to meet the Robins' valuation.

However, the former Swansea boss told skysports.com that he is confident of adding new faces in the coming weeks.

"We were looking around, but the closer it got to the deadline the less likely something was going to happen," said Jackett, who earlier let youngster Pat O'Connor go out on loan to Tooting.

"Unless you have a deal that was set up prior to deadline day or you get very lucky then all of a sudden a club's valuation of a player goes up quite a bit.

"It wouldn't be right to talk about individuals or other club's players, but we are always looking to improve and bring better players in.

"We didn't manage to do that before the transfer window closed, but the emergency loan window opens up in a week or so, which means that the door isn't necessarily closed on strengthening the squad."
