West Ham winger Valon Behrami admits he is disappointed to still be at Upton Park this season.

The Switzerland international, who joined the Hammers two years ago from Italian club Lazio, held talks with Roma during the transfer window.

However, the Serie A outfit were unable to sell players to raise their funds, and the proposed move for 25-year-old Behrami fell through.

The Hammers have endured a disappointing start to their Premier League campaign and are currently sitting at the bottom of the table following three defeats from their opening three games.

And while admitting his frustration over the collapsed Roma switch, Behrami expects to be part of manager Avram Grant's plans this term.

"I am disappointed the deal failed to go through - that is for certain," said Behrami in The Sun.

"Avram Grant gave me his permission to speak with Roma.

"But he also said he needs me, with West Ham bottom of the table. I'm sure I'll still get to play for them."

Mark Eberlein (West Ham United fan) says...

Behrami needs to pull up his socks and get on with the job without moaning about it, he has''nt played that well himself and is''nt bigger then the team or the club. Where is the pride in players these days, when a teams not doing that well instead of crying about it and jumping ship how about putting your head down and working a bit harder at getting your club of the bottom, a bit of pay back after all that is your job is it not??
