Capello: In dream job
England manager Fabio Capello insists he is still in his dream job, despite coming under criticism following the World Cup exit.
The Italian coach was hailed as a hero when he took up the Three Lions post in January 2008 but, after an excellent qualifying campaign, saw his team crash out to Germany in the second round of the World Cup.
Capello's position was the subject of intense scrutiny following the disappointment in South Africa, however, he has remained his usual obstinate self since then.
After the summer debacle it was thought Capello would make changes in the England camp but the experienced tactician picked the majority of the same players against Bulgaria on Friday night who were part of the defeated side in Bloemfontein back in June.
Following the comfortable 4-0 win at Wembley against Bulgaria though, the former Real Madrid, AC Milan and Juventus boss insists he is still happy in the job.
"It is still the dream job," he said.
"I have a lot of passion and I am a fighter. I always need to fight. That is my mentality. It is my life.
"This is a fantastic job and I still have confidence in this team. And I think we can improve."
Capello added: "I am really happy with Wayne Rooney's performance.
"I asked him to stay in that position and he did everything perfectly."
England travel to Switzerland for their second Euro 2012 qualifier on Tuesday night, as they look to make it two wins from two.
One of the criticisms of Capello is that he does not show enough emotion on the touchline but this is something he dismissed.
"I read about this (non-celebration)," he shrugged.
"When I won the Champions League against Barcelona with Milan in 1994, look how many times I celebrated then? Never. It is my style."
