Kanu: Winner for Wales
Wales U21s produced a hard-fought victory away to Hungary to leave themselves on the brink of the European Championship play-offs.
Brian Flynn's youngsters produced a workmanlike performance against the Hungarians to claim all three points and leave themselves three points clear at the top of Group Three with a crucial encounter against Italy to come.
Reading star Hal Robson-Kanu had a mixed afternoon after scoring the only goal of the game, the 21-year-old winger also missed a late penalty, but the Welsh held on to secure a vital win.
The Under-21s now face Italy in Pescara on Tuesday in a group decider needing only to avoid a heavy defeat to win the group.
Wales hold a four-goal advantage over the Azzurri and Flynn is expected to call upon the services of Simon Church, Neal Eardley and Andy King who were part of the senior squad's 1-0 defeat in Montenegro on Friday night.
Flynn's side are aiming to progress to the finals this time around after losing out to England in the qualifying play-offs two years ago.
The 10 group winners and four best runners-up advance to play-offs for the finals in Denmark next year.
