Hammill: Wolves new boy
Wolves have completed the signing of Barnsley winger Adam Hammill on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
As revealed by skysports.com earlier this week, Wolves were poised to sign the former Liverpool man after opening talks with the highly-rated midfielder.
Hammill, who been one of the stand-out performers in the Championship this season, is believed to have had a £500,000 buy-out clause in his contract and his departure is a major blow for Barnsley.
Wolves are believed to have beaten a host of clubs to Hammill's signature with the likes of Blackpool and Nottingham Forest credited with an interest in his services.
Hammill is excited at making the move to Wolves and is looking forward to working under Mick McCarthy.
"Wolves are a massive club and I'm looking forward to playing my part for the rest of the season," he told the club's official website.
"I'm pleased to be getting the chance to try and play Premier League football.
"My agent has got a few players here already and they all say how much they enjoy playing under Mick McCarthy and the staff here.
"It seems a really good working environment and I can't wait to get going and get the shirt on.
"I think my ambitions go hand in hand with the club.
"I'm really keen to play in the Premier League and the club are keen to establish themselves here and I'm really excited about the prospect."
McCarthy's new signing is expected to go straight into the Wolves squad for this weekend's game with former club Liverpool, live on Sky Sports HD2 & 2.
