Ricardo Alvarez has expressed his delight at securing a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan.

Following a protracted transfer saga, it was confirmed on Wednesday that the Argentine playmaker is on his way to Italy.

His current employers Velez Sarsfield have announced that a deal has been struck with Inter and that they are prepared to sanction a sale.

It is understood that a £10million package is in place, with personal terms representing the final piece of the jigsaw.

Adventure

Alvarez, who was also a target for Arsenal and Roma, is due in Milan on Thursday to put the finishing touches to the move.

He admits he is looking forward to linking up with such an illustrious club and is excited by the challenges which await him at Giuseppe Meazza.

"It's a dream come true," Alvarez told Inter's official website.

"I am ready for this beautiful adventure."
