Rennes general manager Pierre Dreossi has denied reports that Arsenal have made a bid for midfielder Yann M'Vila.

Following the sale of Cesc Fabregas, the expected departure of Samir Nasri and a slow start to the season, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been linked with a host of players as he bids to strengthen his squad ahead of the transfer deadline.

One of those players is 21-year-old M'Vila, already an established France international, with Wenger reportedly prepared to pay £12million for the defensive midfielder.

However, Dreossi claims he has no knowledge of any approach from the Gunners about M'Vila, who recently signed a contract extension until 2015, and believes he will be staying in Ligue 1.

"I don't know anything [about an Arsenal bid]. Yann has extended his contract with us so a departure is not topical," Dreossi told L'Equipe.

"He has started the season with us and he will finish it with us. That is very clear."
