Chelsea have named Luiz Felipe Scolari as their new manager and skysports.com wants to know your views on the appointment.
Is Scolari the right man to take over at Stamford Bridge? Can he enjoy the same sort of success as Jose Mourinho in West London?
Of the other names linked with the position, does Scolari possess the best credentials?
Or, do you think Chelsea have made a mistake in going for Scolari? Who should have been given the job?
And what about his lack of coaching experience at club level in Europe? Or his age at 59? Do Chelsea need someone of such vast experience, or would a younger manager have been better suited to the post?
Send in your views to skysports.com by using the feedback form below and we will print a selection.

Scolari is possibly the best choice next to Frank Rijkaard were talkin about a winner here, which has been the missing link since Jose left, plus he has a no nonsense style and im yet to hear any player that has worked under him say a bad word about him.i think he will also provide the much needed tactics thats needed in the premiership ultimately i hope he brings in the names that have been branded about.we need to be playing more attacking football with a bit of flair,i think Drogba s time is up.we need new blood and a new system.hopefully Scolari will achieve great things.go on blues.

I believe this is the perfect appointment for Chelsea. Scolari is known for his attacking style and his ability to handle the big names that Chelsea have currently and those that look set to come in this summer. I really hope he brings in Villa, Ribery and Kaka. With those additions and a fresh attacking style of football I think Chelsea will have an unbelievable chance of regaining the title and winning in Europe. And seeing a certain Ronaldo head to Spain will not help Uniteds cause at all!! Drogba, Sidwell, Ben Haim I hope leave and I think SWP, Shevchenko have to leave for their own game.

he is a good man for the club. can handle big players unlike grant. i hope chelsea play better football this term. we dont need deco as we have younger and better players that dont dive as much in joe cole and swp. the right hand side is sorted in my view for the next few seasons. left side is my main concern.dead wood should go drogba, sidwell, maka is too old now and essien can do that possition well, and do we really need 6 center backs bullaruz and ben haim to leave

Great appointment, will renew the confidance that Chelsea had under Mourinho. Anyone can win with payers like Kaka and Ronaldinho though, would also be nice if Scolari starts getting Chelsea to play resonably attractive football like Arsenal and Man.Utd rather than whacking it up the pitch onto Drogba's many different body parts!

it is good because we finally get some big stars ronaldinho deco kaka etc etc i think he has what it takes to win every cup that chelsea are in and unlucky madrid you know where ronaldo is going

Excellent appointment for the league in terms of entertainment value. With Wenger becoming ever more boring by the mintue, the big four are in desperate need of some spice to keep the rest of us interested in what you do! As for the football, his record speaks for itself. He has the prospect of wining the champions league, premier league etc. If he was to win these he would make a pretty elite status in world football with his world cup win and possibly even a european cup too. Good luck Chelsea. Lets hope he has a bit of a clean out and brings in some new faces. It would be interesting to see if he brings a Brazilian-Portugese influence to the team such as Kaka, Ronaldinho, Robinho, Quaresma or Deco.

Big Phil vs Sir Alex would be great to watch. Both are talented managers and have good managerial experience. I feel Scolari will bring great success to Chelsea. Even if Scolari doesn't win the Champions League or Premier League next season, he won't be sacked so easily like Grant as nobody will doubt Scolari's ability and Abramovich is not THAT stupid.

Not sure about this appointment, he has won a few important cups but with the likes of Luis Ronaldo, Adriano, Kaka, Ronaldinhio, Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos, Juninhio etc etc. But with these types of players, it's not exactly hard is it!? You have to ask yourself, what has he won at club level with a mixture of nationalities? Not a lot is the answer! By the way, you Chelski fans can forget about Kaka signing, this player is too classy for Chelski, plus London is too dirty for him, unlike Milan. Kaka stay where you are in a bigger and more important club, that is AC Milan.

If Chelsea really wanted a man who has won the World Cup they should have gone for Lippi. Not only has he done it but has managed in Serie A and in the Champions League. Big Phil is the best manager currently employed who they could get. He has managed Portugal in 3 major championships and wants a new challenge. I think he probably wanted the job more than Chelsea realised and they have paid well over the top for him. But the truth is does anyone think if he fails to win the Prem League or Champ League he will still have a job at the end of the season?

Rich Randerson (Manchester United fan) says...
Scolari is a very good manager no question. The language barrier lets face it at Chelsea will not be an issue but i think Abramovic is the biggest problem they have. Perhaps he'll give Scolari more leeway than Grant got because he's a bigger personality but 2 big personalities will undoubtedly clash. Rumours around that Rom's to be banned from the dressing room will not sit well with him. Chels will remain hard to beat but whether or not they play with style remains unclear. Plus if they buy too many new players they'll take time to adjust and have a slow start to the season. As a Man Utd fan i know how important stability is, one word which Chelsea don't know the meaning of (oh, and Man City!)

Scolari is a wonderful tactician and a proven winner. But there are three problems. Language barrier, language barrier and language barrier.... I would have chosen Roberto Mancini.

A manager has to be pretty bad not to win with the players Chelsea have. We will win the league nnext year, the champs league is always a lottery at the last 16 since all the teams are top class. I must say Scolari seems like the nearest thing to Mourinho on the market at the moment; aggressive, seige mentality, chip on shoulder, doesn't bow to anyone and he forges these instincts in the team and staff around him. Oh yeah, and he understands football strategy as well. A total winning combination without a doubt!

It`s just like watching Brazil !! Good appointment as he is able to encourage attacking football, but also to be a disciplinarian to control the big egos in the dressing room. Keep JT, Carvalho, Cech, Essien, Joe Cole and a few others. Sell Drogba, Lampard and a few more, then bring in flair players like Kaka, Deco, Villa and Quaresma to entertain us and win with style. Cmon u Blues !!

Pleased with the appointment of Scolari! He has a proven track record wherever he has managed. Would be nice to play more attractive football but we have the ability to grind out results unlike some teams, which is a massive bonus!! As for players to get rid: Malouda is a joke!! Kalou has a shockin touch and no end product! Pizzaro not a Chelsea player! All 3 must go!! Wright Phillips needs a gd run in the team, he will be quality under a manager who believes in him!! Up the blues!!!

I think Big Phil is a great choice for manager, i wanted either him or Slavan Billic! He handles big names well (as you need to do if your managing brazil and portugal) aswell as plays attractive flowing football (which Abramovich craves) and is a good tactiction which was the main thing that Grant didnt have! Plus he knows Carvalho, Bosingwa and Ferreira so he isnt coming into a completely unknown team! As for his communication issues, Capello learned english quickly plus everyone knows some of the English language and u have the portugese in the squad to help. I realy hope he clears out the squad, keep - Cech, carvalho, terry, essien, mikel, makalele, Ballack and J cole and sell the rest! yes that includes drogba and lampard! And DEFFINATLY dont buy Ronaldinho!!! COME ON YOU BLUES!!!

He won the World Cup but has never managed a European club or played in the Champions League or Premier League and lost to Greece in a major final with a class team at home! Anyone can play good football with Kaka, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho all at their best its a different story as Chelsea manager and Fergie has already beaten him in a major final in the World Club Championship. He'll be gone in a year. Hughes or Redknapp should have got it.

Great manager, flair and stylish football should finally make it to the bridge. At least announcing the appointment at this time should allow Scolari to sign players he wants and not just be handed a team choosen for him. Hate to admit it but United and Arsnal played much better football than us last season, lets hope that they will have to adapt to follow our style next season. But I do hope that he signs young players rather than 28+ lets look to the future not just next season and lets hope that Red Rom realises that you have to build a team not just buy one. One last point lets hope that he has time in the hot seat and not just judged on one or two seasons, look at the teams who play attractive football, Unt and Ars, their managers have had quite a time in the hot seat, take note Rom.

Who's kidding who. The reason Scolari has advised Ronaldo to move to Real is so that Chelsea don't have to face a United in the premiership with him next season.

Love the Man United fans saying 'Chelski are ruining football' by throwing loads of money at it. Let's not forget Man United did the Prem/CL Double last season in a $1billion of debts. Lets see if Scolari plants one on Fergie or Benitez like he did with that player Dragutinovic. Well even if he does fail and it goes bottoms up, at least it should be entertaining!

Good appointment, Hope he hangs on to Essien, Terry, Mikel, carvallio and ballack, ship the rest out and re-build if we are to play with style
