Desailly: Chelsea are no one-man team

Former Chelsea captain Marcel Desailly told Sky Sports News that no player - including Didier Drogba - is bigger than the Stamford Bridge club.

Drogba, who has scored 50 goals in 110 appearances for Chelsea since moving from Marseille in 2004, has been strongly linked with a switch to Inter Milan, where he would link up with former coach Jose Mourinho, as well as AC Milan.

But former French international Desailly insists that while Drogba would be missed, he is not irreplaceable.

"For sure - as a Chelsea fan," Desailly told Sky Sports News when asked if he would like the Ivory Coast star to stay at the London club.

"He's meant a lot to Chelsea but I believe we shouldn't concentrate on him.

"If he goes, Chelsea still have strength.

"It's not the player who's more important - it's the club."

Drogba, who could be tempted to stay with the Premier League and Champions League runners-up following the arrival of World Cup-winning manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, is contracted to the Blues until 2010.
