Rooney: Fans' favourite
Wayne Rooney wins top honour in January - awards for Charlie Adam, Rickie Lambert and Kasper Schmeichel.
Wayne Rooney's devastating spell of sustained brilliance over the last few weeks has earned him the title of PFA Fans' Player of the Month for January.
Rooney is enjoying a wonderful season and is already on 20 league goals - a career best. The highlight of the last month was his stunning four-goal haul against Hull...another career first.
"I've never really scored that many goals from inside the six-yard box over the years but I've been working on that - and thankfully it's starting to pay off," said Rooney.
"As a football fan, you like to see goals flying in from all over the place, but I've not really scored that many great goals. They've all been fairly similar!
"My favourite goal would be my second against Croatia at Euro 2004. I always like watching that goal."
Fans' Player of the Month in the Championship is Blackpool playmaker Charlie Adam, the 13-goal man who has been in sensational form for promotion-chasing Pool all season.
Seasiders' boss Ian Holloway says of a player he had no intention of selling in the transfer window: "Charlie is a great player, but I always said I wanted to add players to help him and make it a season that could be spectacular, not sell him and risk things petering away."
The award for League One Player of the Month goes to Southampton striker Rickie Lambert, who has finally managed to beat Jermaine Beckford to the coveted fans' prize.
Lambert's goals have helped Saints climb up to a healthy mid-table position, and manager Alan Pardew says: "I feel he is the player that can get us out of this division.
"For the last two years, he has been prolific in League One and we want him to continue that. He's what I would call a marquee signing."
Finally, a very famous surname goes on the trophy for Fans' Player of the Month in League Two - Kasper Schmeichel. The Notts County keeper needs no introduction, but Dad Peter will be extremely proud of the progress his son is now making.
The Danish star uses some unorthodox methods to keep himself at the top of his game and works hard away from the training ground on a variety of other sports.
He explains: "I play a lot of tennis and badminton because I think it relates to being a keeper. It is all about small rapid movements, having good feet and it can also be quite explosive as well. It is close to what I do and it is about keeping yourself fresh and ready for when you play again."
