Fantasy Football team of the week

Wayne Rooney continues to be the man to have in Sky Sports Fantasy Football after racking up a further 22 points with his hat-trick in Manchester United's 5-0 demolition of Bolton.

Wayne Rooney is 5/2 to be the Premier League's top scorer this season. Bet here.

The England striker took his scoring tally to eight goals with another impressive display, which earned him Sky Sports' man of the match award and a bonus five points for the second game week running.

That means the 25-year-old has now picked up an incredible 61 points from just four games, half of the amount he collected during the whole of last season.

Rooney's rampant form has seen him overtake Luis Suarez to become the game's most popular player with 42% of Fantasy bosses selecting him, despite a valuation of £9.9m.

Want Hernandez in your team? Make transfers here.

His strike partner Javier Hernandez (£9.2m) was a far less popular choice after missing the start of the season with injury but a brace, which saw him notch up 12 points, is likely to attract plenty of interest with Danny Welbeck sidelined and Dimitar Berbatov rooted to the United bench.

Phil Jones (£5.7m) was United's other stand-out performer with two assists and 13 points the fruits of his rampaging runs from right-back.

There was one player who managed to match Rooney over the weekend and, just like before the international break when Edin Dzeko smashed four past Tottenham, it was a rival City player.

Sergio Aguero also bagged a hat-trick with Wigan the latest victim of City's frightening form in a 3-0 defeat at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City are 15/8 second favourites to win the Premier League this season. Bet now.

The £9.6m valued striker took his tally to six goals and in the process almost doubled his points tally, with a haul of 22 moving him up to the game's second-highest scorer on 45.

That leaves the Argentina forward three ahead of striker partner Dzeko, who had to watch on from the bench as Carlos Tevez was favoured - presenting an interesting dilemma to Fantasy bosses.

Dzeko or Tevez?

Dzeko was the second most transferred in player ahead of the weekend following his season-high of 27 points in game week one, but he is likely to be heading back out of a fair few teams with last season's top scorer Tevez back in the reckoning.

After failing to engineer a move away from Manchester, Tevez will have to do more than miss a penalty to justify his £10m price tag, but his talent and set-piece responsibilities will surely deliver points in City's star-studded attack if he can pin down a regular place.

There were few other big point scorers around the Premier League, although Ryan Shawcross (£5.6m) and Leon Osman (£5.2m) both managed to clear the 10-point mark, with the pair picking up man of the match awards along with a clean sheet and a goal respectively.

Of the debutants, Scott Parker (£5.7m) notched up nine points for an assist and a man of the match award in Tottenham's 2-0 win at Wolves, while fellow White Hart Lane arrival Emmanuel Adebayor (£6.1m) looks a bargain after wasting little time in opening his goalscoring his account.
