Healy: Survival hopes
Fulham striker David Healy is urging manager Roy Hodgson for the chance to inspire the side to Premier League survival.
The Northern Ireland international has been out of favour at Craven Cottage since the turn of the year and has scored just three goals in this season's campaign.
The 28-year-old is determined to fight for a place in the starting line-up and add to Fulham's six goals from their last 10 games.
"There are enough games left now for me to play in," he told The Sun. "The decision rests in Roy's hands.
"Given the opportunities at Fulham, hopefully I could score the goals that could keep us up. I have to be fit and ready when the call comes.
"It's disappointing not to be playing at club level. I don't feel like I've been out of my depth - for whatever reason I just haven't got the breaks.
"I still seem to be scoring in training. In training I am a little bit more greedy. Sometimes you get your greedy head on and don't pass to anyone."
Despite his lack of action in the side, Fulham refused to discuss a possible loan move to Ipswich and Healy is pleased that he has been given the chance to prove himself.
"There was talk of a possible loan move two or three weeks ago," he added. "Before it even got to me asking him, Roy said 'no'.
"I want to stay here and be a part of this - be it good or bad.
"Fulham gave me the opportunity and I don't want to be jumping ship. I want to be part of this and be a part of helping the team stay up."
