Nani: Winger settling well

Portuguese winger Nani believes the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Anderson has helped him swiftly settle into life at Old Trafford.

The former Sporting Lisbon player has featured in all of Manchester United's matches so far this season and has admitted his surprise at the speed of his integration into the first-team picture.

The talented 20-year-old was regarded as a prospect for the future after his summer move, but suspensions and injuries in attack have forced Sir Alex Ferguson's hand somewhat.

Nani said: "Cristiano has been unsurpassable in the support he's given me. He's really helped me and he is a friend who I spend a lot of time with off the pitch.

"Anderson and I have also both helped each other. He has been working really well, and although he hasn't made his debut yet, I'm sure it won't be long before he does."

Adaptation

Speaking to reporters in Portugal after featuring for the Under 21 side in their 3-0 victory over Malta, Nani added: "I thought the adaptation would be more complicated, but I've felt good and managed to play.

"The training is similar to what we did at Sporting, the biggest difference is in the matches themselves, because they require more fight and effort."

And Nani has no plans to drop his trademark somersault celebration, despite reports Ferguson feared it could lead to injuries.

He said: "Ferguson has never spoken to me about this subject and I am going to continue to celebrate goals in this way. The conversations he has had with me are normal conversations, like he has with all players."
