Mourinho will be missed by chelsea fans. He gave them all the success a second rate club could dream of... A rich guy with tons of money to spend on players, but little knowledge of football, won't make a good team: Abramovich is set to failure if he doesn't get a decent manager. Personally, despite being Portuguese, I don't like Mourinho's way of doing things, he talks too much and has a super-ego... If he wins, he's the best, if he looses, the referees were to blame..or the pitch..or the weather..or the ball... Of course, he's a great manager and will enjoy sucess somewhere else, if they let him be in complete control. Greetings and watch out for BENFICA!..

I think the board made a mistake.Having said that I would like to point out that I hate the way Chelsea fans are trying to paint Mourinho as a saint .Lets face it he had his own problems too and it was a combination of Abrahamovic's and His that led to the situation. What would he do in a club like Real madrid were there are numerous factions interfering?

Just a reminder to the mourning Chelsea fans. If Abramovich hadn't been at Chelsea with his millions then lets face it Jose would never had come. Lets see where fate lies for Chelsea, Ambramovich and Jose.

Bill Clarke says...

It is now nearly one week since Jose departed and it has taken this long for it to sink in he has gone. I was totally disgusted by his treatment by the board and as for Roman he should be ashamed of himself, in firstly, by not allowing Jose to get on with things, secondly, in his meddlesome interference in buying players such as Shevchenko/Ballack who in their days were great players; sadly, they are no longer that. In the old days we had great managers such as Tommy Doc and Sexton who knew how to manage and get the best, with no interference. We now appear to be sliding into serious problems not only with the way we play, the way we manage and the way the Club treat their fans. I've supported Chelsea all my life and it saddens me what is now happening. We have to now all pull together as one, appoint a proper manager with accredited skills and just hope that Jose doesn't pop in to the Bridge to watch us play next Wednesday(Valencia) as he will cringe with embarassment; because we can't score goals to win against lowly teams(Fulham) so how the hell are we going to perform against Valencia. Will the board now appoint another new Director of Football or are we the fans going to have to put up with Avram ? My final analysis is, no one in this life will have any luck if they treat someone who is wonderful(Jose) with disrespect, because at the end of that day what does count is to hold your head up and say, ''I did what was right, I treated that person with the respect, he/she deserved''. I feel disgusted and totally let down by the whole shenanigins which has taken place, all in the good name of football. We have to ask ourselves; ''Will Avram win the Champions League'' ? No, is the answer to that. ''Would Jose win it, yes he did, and came very close twice with us, and this was all done having to put up with un-necessary involvement from higher up''.

Babatunde Bello (Chelsea fan) says...

Chelsea was mediocre before the special one. Endlish football was less colourful before him too. After his departure, Chelsea will loss bigtime. But English Football would lose more. Roman has just shown he has a big ego, not a big heart for football. He is poison for football. Jose may not be perfect, nobody is. But he was great for Chelsea and for English football.

James Green (Derby County fan) says...

Its all about egos and suits. Corporate power rules! It's not about results and trophies. That's just to keep the riff-raff (supporters) interested because without them the 'real' business, advertising & TV Rights etc would downturn. Why else would a guy who brings a club their 1st (& 2nd) league title in 50 years get fired. Shades of Brian Clough here.

G Man (Chelsea fan) says...

Very dissapointing. 6 trophies in 3 seasons and Abramovich wants exciting football? Chelsea couldn't have been too boring if they were regularly winning trophies. My view is Mourinho is one of the best managers in the world and he is still a relatively young manager. He truly was and still is 'The Special One' and will be missed. The Chelsea board better get their act together because if they think Avram Grant is going to be able to emulate this success they are dreaming. They need to get some quality management quick. All that being said Chelsea still have one of the best squads in the world but Will Avram Grant be able to discipline them in the same way Mourinho did? I doubt it very much. Roman Abramovich ... Big Mistake parting ways with 'The Special One'.

Brown George says...

Roman changed the whole thing. He is now going to waste his money. Everybody sit back and watch. That is how the rich fall, taking bad decisions her and there. Roman you are a rich failure.

Chris Mcwilliams says...

I have to say i dont know what all the fuss is about, and dont know why he is called the special one,you can pick someone off the street and give him the money mourinho wasted and he would be able to win trophies,it does not matter who the next manager is, as long as Roman Abramovich keeps pumping the money in Chelsea will be fighting for trophies on all fronts.

Menasi Mupazi says...

We all saw what happened at Old Trafford on the 23rd. Avram has got far too little of what is required of a manager who should take charge of a Club of Chelsea calibre. I think the Chelsea owner has no clue what fans mean to a football club. A piece of advice to Rom: It is now time to fire your cronies PK,BB and others and swallow your pride. Your need Mour back or say goodbye to success at Chelsea.

The loss of Mourinho the greatest manager CFC has had will cost us dearly. I will go as far as saying we won't even qualify for the champions league; Incredible? you better beleive it.... Mr Grant will be gone by christmas but it will be to late. Abramovich thinks he can pick the team, this ain't russia pal its England.....

Get over it, perhaps Abramovich will quit next and Chelsea will be back where they belong being a second rate club, remember what happend to Leeds.

I don't belive that Grant has the chraisma, to bring what the SPecial One brought to the game as a Manchester United fan i feel there will be no competiton no more!

Paul Chamberlain (Chelsea fan) says...

Disgusted with the board. They have let the greatest manager ever go. They also let claudio go, but he was replaced by a manage who had just won the champions league, not by someone playing jumpers and goalposts 6 months earlier in israel. Money cant buy you sucess, Grant will now prove that.

Mourinho exit might be a blessing in disguise. He had tried for the club. The only weakness I see in Jose is that he talks too much.

Andy Smith says...

The Premier league will be sadder place without the "special one"As a Man U fan I savoured the games we played against Chelsea.Jose always created great drama and entertainment in the dug out, even if his team didn`t do it on the pitch. His after match observations were always honest and eloquent. Chelsea will miss him, but the premier league will miss him more!

Allan Wright (Chelsea fan) says...

We have just handed the initative to other Big Clubs in the Premiership. Jose was the "Special One" and showed this with his record at the Club. Unbeaten at the Bridge in the Premiership, 5 Trophies including back to back Premiership titles. He will come back to haunt us so let's hope he takes the Portugese Managers job!

I have nothing to say. I will support any club that Jose manage. That is the only way I can ba satisfied.
