Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed he is happy to have left the club.

Chelsea confirmed on Thursday morning that Mourinho had departed Stamford Bridge by mutual consent because his relationship with the board had broken down beyond repair.

Mourinho has insisted he is happy to now be away from Stamford Bridge but will always be proud of his achievements in England.

"From a professional and personal point of view, I'm feeling great," he said in an interview with Portuguese state broadcaster RTP.

"I'm glad to have left. I'm glad to have left."

Mourinho's exit came after a disappointing run of results, but during his three-year reign The Blues won two Premier Leagues, two Carling Cups and one FA Cup.

The Portuguese tactician added: "I'm proud of what I did at Chelsea, not only in terms of results but the mark I left on the country, the city, the fans, my opponents, English soccer."
