Benitez: No problem

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has played down talk of his row with the club's American owners, saying his relationship with them is fine.

Benitez's row with Liverpool co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks has dominated the headlines in the last week, with the Spaniard upset that the Americans would not back his transfer plans.

The Spaniard is planning to talk to both men to try and resolve the matter, but he insists he has no problem with the American pair.

Happy

"Maybe I will see them, I was talking to Rick Parry about different things but not with them directly," said Benitez.

"Now my position is to just enjoy after the last game.

"Yeah it is clear we need to talk about the misunderstanding, the different ideas and that's it.

"It is clear I want to stay here.

"I am really happy, our supporters were magnificent the other day and the players, staff and everybody is alright.

"My idea is to keep working as hard as before and try to win games and trophies for my club."

Benitez believes all parties are keen for Liverpool to be successful and he revealed he thanked them after signing Fernando Torres.

Thanks

"I think they want the same [success]. When we signed Torres I said thank you because we were signing a top-class player and spending big money.

"I think the relationship was intact and must be good again."
