Skysports.com understands Blackburn are interested in signing Charlton midfielder Amdy Faye.

Faye, who is currently on loan at Rangers from Charlton, is believed to be keen on a move to Ewood Park after failing to establish himself at Ibrox.

The Senegal international has struggled to hold down a regular place in Walter Smith's side since his arrival and is keen on a move away in search of regular first team action.

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes is eager to bolster his squad after losing Robbie Savage to Derby and he is weighing up a move for the former Portsmouth and Newcastle man Faye.

Trial

Faye's agent, Willie McKay has confirmed Blackburn are interested in signing the defensive midfielder and that he is set to have a short trial at Ewood Park.

"Blackburn are interested in Amdy and they are hoping he can join up with them for a few days training," McKay told skysports.com.

"At the minute, Walter Smith wants to keep him as he does not want to lose any players, but Amdy is keen to go.

"He has not had a chance at Rangers really as their midfield has been playing well and he wants to be playing on a regular basis.

"We will see what happens before the close of the transfer window."
