Routledge: Frustrated

Wayne Routledge has revealed he is desperate to leave Tottenham to kick-start his career.

The 23-year-old is well down the pecking order at White Hart Lane and has started only three games since his move from Crystal Palace three years ago.

Routledge is now hoping to secure a move away from Tottenham this month after growing increasingly frustrated with his lack of first team opportunities.

"If I am not going to play for Tottenhgam, which looks very realistic at the moment then I would like to play first team football at a club which would love to have me," Routledge told Sky Sports News.

"I think I have a lot to offer to many clubs, but at same time I need chance to go out and play first team football.

"For me now I think it is more of a permanent thing. I need to get myself out aand about and get myself established in someone else's first team wherever that be.

"It is frustarting not playing as all I want to do is get back playing again and kick-start my career."

Interest

Routledge claims he has received some offers for his services, but believes Tottenham's price-tag is putting off some suitors.

"It's no mystery there have been offers and there has been interest from a few clubs but at same time it is Catch 22 - as clubs are obviously interested in me but at the same time they do not want to overspend their budgets.

At the minute I am valued at a certian price that Tottenham are asking and in a nutshell it's basiscally some clubs are not willing to pay that.

"So at the same time I need a compromise from two clubs, whoever it may be, with Tottenham on one side and whatever club it be to come to an agreement, which is good for both sides and good for me to go out and play football."
