Wigan Athletic's new signing Erik Edman says the chance to return to the Premier League was too good to refuse.

The Sweden international is back in England's top-flight after leaving Spurs in 2005 for Ligue 1 outfit Rennes.

However, once Wigan came in for his services this month, he jumped at the chance to seal an England return.

"It was a chance I could not miss," he told Viasatsport.se. "Everything is really positive.

"I think it's really good that I've changed to a better environment."
