Andy Cole will decide at the end of the season whether he should retire or play on.

The 36-year-old striker joined Burnley on loan from Sunderland in January and will stay at Turf Moor until the end of the current campaign.

He netted his first goal for The Clarets in the 1-1 draw with Colchester at the weekend, and is determined to make a big impact over the coming months.

Cole's opportunities had been limited at The Stadium of Light and he had little hesitation in accepting the offer of a loan at Burnley.

"I had never played at Burnley before and I didn't even know where it was," the former Manchester United forward said in the Daily Star.

Enthusiasm

"But I spoke to Owen Coyle and his enthusiasm for wanting to play football and wanting me to come and enjoy myself was enough."

Cole admits he may hang up his boots in the summer, but is not yet ready to make the decision.

He explained: "I really want to try and finish on a high.

"When I get to the end of the season I'll make my mind up whether I want to play on."
