Berger: Uncertain future
Aston Villa midfielder Patrik Berger is desperate for his future to be resolved as soon as possible.
The 34-year-old has not been able to establish himself as a regular starter at Villa this season, and recently confirmed he wants to move back to Slavia Prague in the summer.
Portsmouth were also keen to sign him in the January transfer window, but Martin O'Neill ruled out any chance of a switch to the South Coast.
Berger is unsure where his future lies, but he has reiterated his desire to leave Villa when his contract expires.
"I am a free agent so outside England I can negotiate with anybody at any time," he told Sport.
"But we will see what happens. I have not yet spoken officially with Slavia.
"I do not know yet what will happen in the summer, but I want to have my future resolved as soon as possible.
"I would not like to stay here any longer."
O'Neill recently stated that Berger could still come in and make an impact as Villa chase a European spot, but the former Czech Republic international accepts that his chances could be limited.
He explained: "I am returning after a back injury. Moreover, the guys have been playing very well this season, the results have been excellent and we are just three points behind the Champions League spots.
"There is no reason for the coach to make any changes. We have no injuries or suspensions. We have been playing with the same line-up."
Berger has been linked with a number of Major League Soccer clubs in the past and he admits he would consider an offer from America.
He said: "It might be interesting but it would also depend on which club it is. At the moment I am favouring a return home."
