Anderson: On international duty
Manchester United midfielder Anderson is loving life in England as he basks in the glory of Sunday's victory over Liverpool.
The Brazilian was outstanding in the centre of United's midfield at Old Trafford, flourishing in the company of Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes.
Anderson was expected to be eased into United's first team gently this season but he has exceeded all expectations in making 32 appearances.
It was Anderson that played at the furthest point of United's triumvirate but while he concedes it is a position he feels comfortable with, the 19-year-old insists he would play anywhere to guarantee playing time.
"I had more freedom and played as a No.10 against Liverpool," he told the Manchester Evening News.
"I feel very at ease playing this way and I hope that I can repeat the performances I have had at my club when I play for Brazil.
"I just want to play in as many games as possible. Even if I have to play in goal, I'll do it.
"I've enjoyed every match I've been involved in this season and the different positions I've taken up.
"In the long term, I'm sure the manager will play me wherever he feels I will be most effective."
While Anderson is ahead of schedule in terms of his progress at Old Trafford, one bugbear for the midfielder is a lack of goals.
And it is a state of affairs he is determined to put right: "I'm literally praying for goals.
"I'm hopeful that when I start scoring, I will score in some important games.
"It's a beautiful thing to be involved in a finale to a season such as this. We are in a good position in the Premier League and the Champions League and we are focused on winning both."
