Manchester United midfielder Anderson has expressed his gratitude to the club's welcoming supporters.

The Brazilian arrived at Old Trafford from Porto last summer and has slipped seamlessly into life in England.

His form has been so impressive that he has kept established Premier League stars such as Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes on the sidelines.

He admits that the speed in which he has adjusted to top-flight football in this country has even surprised him, but feels that it has been the considerable backing he has received from the stands which has helped him to settle so quickly.

Relaxed

"I am very happy," he said.

"I moved to Manchester United to be in a team with such great players and they gave me such good support after I spent about eight months injured with Porto.

"It was a wonderful surprise, a wonderful beginning to come to Manchester United, get the support, start playing, playing well, and this reflects the way I feel now - very confident and very relaxed."

Wonderful

Despite Anderson's impressive form this season, the star of United's campaign so far has undoubtedly been Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, with his countryman Kaka currently holding the title of World Player of the Year, the young Brazilian is refusing to be drawn on who can rightfully claim to be the best of the best.

"Ronaldo is playing wonderful, wonderful football but I don't want to say who is the best player in the world," Anderson said.
