Chelsea have taken Dutch starlet Shayton Curiel on trial at Stamford Bridge.

The 16-year-old forward currently plays for Dutch amateur club Spartaan 20 and has been earning favourable reviews since breaking into their first team.

RTV Rijnmond are reporting that Curiel will arrive in West London at the beginning of April, with Chelsea's coaching staff to observe his progress in a number of training sessions.

Curiel is a youth international and has impressed for Holland's Under 17 side, which last week qualified for the European Championship.

Sparta Rotterdam are also known to be keen on the player, who is expected to sign for a professional club in the close season.
