Berbatov: Enjoying Keane partnership

Dimitar Berbatov hopes to rediscover his "telepathic" understanding with Robbie Keane as Tottenham aim to bounce back from last week's surprise home defeat by Newcastle.

Spurs visit Blackburn on Saturday with their prolific strike pair looking to prevent a positive season petering out having already sealed European qualification.

Berbatov and Keane have scored 43 goals between them during their second campaign together to help Spurs recover from a poor start and fire the club to Carling Cup glory in February.

Spurs are now marooned in the mid-table security of 11th place, and with little left to play for, their league form has stuttered in recent weeks.

Telepathic connection

Berbatov and Keane failed to produce the goods during last week's 4-1 humbling by Newcastle but the Bulgarian striker hopes they can get back on the same wavelength at Ewood Park.

"Last season was great as well and this season we have proved again we can work together and understand each other," said Berbatov.

"I'm very happy that our relationship is like that on the field. Obviously there are games when things are not working right but we know how to play with each other. When one is moving the other wants the ball, it's like a telepathic connection.

"That's what I like, he is a great technical player, he thinks with his head when he is playing and that's what I like most about him."

Blackburn are seventh and still hoping to snatch European qualification, so Berbatov expects a tough test against Mark Hughes' men.

Erase memory

"I think we must erase the memory of the Newcastle game, it was a disappointing loss for us," he said.

"They (Blackburn) are more like a physical team, I know that because I've watched them often.

"It's going to be difficult because we like to play technical football but you have games like that when you have to fight for the three points and that's what we will do.

"They have a very good team with big strong defenders and they like to tackle."
