Grant: Under pressure

Chelsea manager Avram Grant believes he is not taken seriously in the Premier League because he is from a 'little country'.

Grant, who replaced former Blues boss Jose Mourinho in September, has come under pressure at Stamford Bridge this season and his future has been cast into doubt.

It has been suggested that Grant, who welcomes Manchester United to West London on Saturday for a Premier League title showdown live on Sky Sports 1, is facing the sack if he cannot secure top-flight glory or success in the UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea are in pole position to book a place in the Champions League final following a 1-1 first leg semi-final draw away to Liverpool on Tuesday, but Grant is still receiving criticism and the Israeli has hit back.

Interesting

"Some of the media here find it a little hard that a coach from a little country is showing them you can do things in a different way but still win," Grant said in The Sun.

"They will get over it. It is an interesting situation because the team is winning a high percentage of its games.

"But the atmosphere is great so I'm enjoying it."
