Grant: Delighted with effort

Chelsea manager Avram Grant insists he will be proud of his squad no matter what the outcome of this season's battle for silverware.

The Premier League title race has gone to the wire as Chelsea and Manchester United go into Sunday's finale to the campaign separated on goal difference.

Chelsea host Bolton on the final day, while Manchester United travel to Wigan - with both games live on Sky Sports - and Grant is hoping his players will again rise to the challenge.

"We have the opportunity to say that, no matter what happens, I think it has been an exciting year," Grant told Chelsea TV.

"Everybody can be proud of the Chelsea players. They have done a very good job."

Grant, though, is adamant that Chelsea - who also face United in the UEFA Champions League final - must focus on their game rather than rely upon a favour from Wigan.

"It will not be an easy game for us. Everybody is thinking about the game against Wigan," Grant added.

"But we need to win first and then maybe think about Manchester United."
