Eriksson: No surprises
Manchester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson has refused to comment on his future at Eastlands.
It is widely believed that Eriksson is set to be sacked at the end of the season following City's poor second half to the current campaign.
Portugal manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is rumoured to be City owner Thaksin Shinawatra's favourite to succeed Eriksson in the summer, despite the former Brazil boss denying the speculation.
And ahead of City's final game of the season at Middlesbrough, Eriksson - who is being linked with a return to former club Benfica - has rebuffed questions regarding his situation.
"I refuse to answer any questions about my future," Eriksson told Sky Sports News.
"There is a lot of speculation. With Benfica I don't confirm and I don't deny."
Eriksson, though, insists he has not been surprised by the guesswork surrounding his position.
And the former England chief accepts he is in a difficult situation and expects an announcement regarding his future with City to be made at the start of next week.
On the prospect of leaving the club, Eriksson added: "It is a possibility, of course it is.
"It is not a secret to anyone in the world of football. But we will see, nothing is confirmed.
"Let's play the last game and have a little bit of patience. The fact is we will probably know next week.
"Football is great and life is great. It is never boring and there is always something happening.
"So you can only accept it and see what is coming up in a week's time, less than a week I suppose."
Sorry, we can not display forthcoming fixtures at this time.
