Avram Grant was delighted to see Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich back at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Russian billionaire was in the stands for the first time since 23rd March as the Blues looked to snatch the Premier League title away from Manchester United.

Despite seeing his expensively assembled troops forced to settle for second place in the table, Abramovich still found time to congratulate the squad on a season which could yet see them make up for domestic heartache with UEFA Champions League glory.

"He knows everything about the team, he watched all the last games, he wanted to come, he came today," said Grant.

"We are always happy to see him.

"He congratulated everybody (in the dressing room) and respects what we did this season."
