Jimmy Bullard intends to remain loyal to Fulham after helping the club maintain their top flight status.

The all-action midfielder was expected to be a summer transfer target for a host of Premier League clubs had the Cottagers dropped into the Championship on Sunday.

However, having been nurtured back to health by the club after 16-months on the sidelines Bullard admits that he owes a debt of gratitude to everyone connected with Craven Cottage.

No rush

"I owe the club loads," he said.

"They have been right behind me, they didn't rush me back.

"I'm just so happy I was able to play my part in keeping us up."

Bullard made his long-awaited return from injury in January and was instrumental in an end-of-season run which saw the Cottagers pick up four wins from their last five games to claw their way to safety.

Turning point

Despite his role in the miraculous escape, the former Wigan man insists that the belief maintained by boss Roy Hodgson was the key factor behind keeping spirits high.

"His belief his huge," Bullard added.

"We came off 2-0 down at half-time at Man City, but he told us we could do it.

"That 3-2 win was the big turning point."
