Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie says Harry Redknapp will remain as manager for as long as he wants to.

Redknapp won the first major trophy of his footballing career by guiding Portsmouth to FA Cup final success over Cardiff on Saturday.

The 1-0 win at Wembley was Pompey's first FA Cup win since 1939 and the victory ensures a place in Europe next season for the South Coast outfit.

There had been rumours circulating over Redknapp's long-term future at Fratton Park ahead of the cup final, but Storrie insists Redknapp is happy and staying put for the foreseeable future.

When asked if Redknapp would be staying at Portsmouth, Storrie told Sky Sports News: "Definitely. He absolutely loves it here this is his home.

"He enjoys being manager of Portsmouth this is his team a team he put together and now he wants to go on.

"As far as [owner] Sacha [Gaydamak] is concerned Harry is here for as long as Harry wants to be here and let's hope that is for many, many years to come.

Happy

"Harry loves the job and you could see what yesterday meant for him."

Storrie also admitted Pompey plan to build on their success this season by taking the next step.

"It has been a fantastic season and we will go another step next season definitely," concluded Storrie.
