Gera: Thrilled to be joining Fulham

Zoltan Gera has revealed that Fulham's strong desire to sign him was the deciding factor in his move to Craven Cottage.

The Hungarian turned down the offer of a new contract at West Brom to join the Cottagers on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old was also linked with Middlesbrough, Portsmouth, Everton and Bolton and he admits there were a number of interesting offers.

Gera accepts that it was a difficult choice but is delighted to be joining Fulham.

"I'm very happy and untroubled as it's done," he told the Hungarian press.

Pressure

"There was a huge pressure on me, the decision I had to make affects my whole life.

"I had detailed offers from some teams and it wasn't an easy choice. I told myself I had to go to the club which wanted me the most.

"But this viewpoint didn't ease my situation because luckily there were a couple of teams that gladly wanted me and WBA wanted me to stay too.

"I've chosen Fulham, because I felt they were a keen on me a little bit more than the other clubs."
