Ghaly: Injury setback

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Hossam Ghaly hopes a knee injury will not ruin his chances of finding a new club.

Ghaly is expecting to leave White Hart Lane over the summer after failing to feature for Spurs last season.

However, he damaged knee ligaments during Egypt's World Cup qualifier against Malawi at the weekend and is out for three months.

"I tore knee ligaments," Ghaly told Filgoal.com.

"Doctors say I will be out for three months, but I hope it would not hinder my chances of finding a new club."

The 26-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Derby County after a proposed move to Birmingham City last summer collapsed.

Ghaly did not make a first-team appearance for Spurs last term and his career in North London has been effectively over since he threw his shirt to the ground after being substituted by then-manager Martin Jol during a game at the end of the 2006/07 campaign.
