Carson: Happy with move
Scott Carson says it took 'three or four days' to decide on a move to West Bromwich Albion over Stoke City.
The England goalkeeper has signed a four-year contract with the Baggies, who have paid Liverpool a fee of £3.25million.
Stoke had also been in the hunt for Carson before withdrawing their interest in the former Leeds United youngster on Thursday.
Carson has thanked the Potters for showing an interest, but believes the Hawthorns is the best place for the next stage of his career.
"Stoke was my other main option," Carson told the club's official website: "I had a look around there as well.
"I'd like to thank them for their interest, but my gut feeling was here would be the best place for me.
"It wasn't just an overnight decision though. It took me three or four days to make my mind up and I spoke to lots and lots of people about both clubs.
"In the end it came down to me seeing myself being at West Brom for a long time."
Carson had spent last season on loan at Aston Villa and is happy to be returning to the Midlands with West Brom.
He added: "I'm delighted everything is signed, sealed and delivered. It's great to be part of the club.
"Having spoken to the manager, and seen the way he's going, I think there's going to be a good future here.
"Everyone I spoke to about West Brom last year said they were the best footballing side in the Championship and deserved to get back into the Premier League.
"Obviously it's a big step into the Premier League, but I'm confident, having spoken to the manager and seen the players that are at the club, we can have a good season."
