Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon is confident the club can keep hold of their star assets ahead of the new season and has targeted one more new signing.

Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Andrei Shevchenko are all thought to be close to the Stamford Bridge exit as Inter and AC Milan wait in the wings.

However, Kenyon insists talks continue to take place with Lampard, and he believes Drogba and Shevchenko will still be Chelsea players when the Blues kick-off their Premier League campaign against Portsmouth on 16th August.

"Negotiations are ongoing with regards to Frank," Kenyon said on Chelsea's official website.

"But we expect all of them (Drogba and Shevchenko) to start the season."

Robinho interest

And Kenyon has reiterated Chelsea's interest in Real Madrid star Robinho as the Blues attempt to secure a final summer signing.

Chelsea have already captured Jose Bosingwa and Deco, but Kenyon has indicated that the club are eager to secure another signature as they bid to close the gap on Premier League and UEFA Champions League holders Manchester United.

"We've brought in Jose Bosingwa, we've signed Deco," Kenyon continued.

"But we need one more player, and we're definitely showing interest in Robinho."

However, Kenyon insists Chelsea have not tabled a record-breaking bid for AC Milan playmaker Kaka because the Serie A outfit are unwilling to sell.

"We have made no bids despite what media reports say. Milan insist he (Kaka) is not for sale," concluded Kenyon.
