Malbranque: On the move
Sunderland have completed the signing of Steed Malbranque for an undisclosed fee.
The Frenchman becomes the third Tottenham player of the summer to swap the capital for the North East, with Malbranque joining Pascal Chimbonda and Teemu Tainio in moving to the Black Cats.
Sunderland boss Roy Keane is still waiting on a decision from a fourth Spurs player, Younes Kaboul, but is understandably delighted to have landed Malbranque.
The 28-year-old, who has signed a four-year deal, was well liked by the Tottenham faithful but has been deemed surplus to requirements under Juande Ramos' White Hart Lane cull.
"He has played in the Premier League for six or seven years now and has been a consistent performer for both Tottenham and Fulham - he creates a lot for the team and can chip in with a goal or two," Keane told the club's official website.
"Steed is a very tricky player and is always looking for the ball and looking to open teams up.
"He'll certainly offer something different to our team and will further increase competition for places in the midfield area."
