Phil Brown has warned his Hull side they must put their opening-day win behind them.

The Tigers celebrated the first top-flight fixture in their 104-year history with a dramatic late win over Fulham at the KC Stadium last weekend.

Brown takes his side to Blackburn this weekend and he insists they

cannot dwell on their opening-day success too long.

"It was a massive boost for us (to beat Fulham)," said Brown, whose side defied the expectations of many pundits to join West Brom and Stoke in graduating from the Coca-Cola Championship last season.

"After three minutes we missed a great chance, after eight minutes we were 1-0 down and after 20 minutes I thought it could be a really bad day because Fulham were playing that well.

"To get an equaliser and go on to win with our fitness levels showed great character.

"But that's firmly behind us now - it's all about looking forward. We came back in on Monday and it was all about focusing on Blackburn."

Confident

City remain among the favourites to return to the Championship, but Brown refuses to entertain the idea his team should go into matches with low expectations.

"We went into Saturday's game fully expecting to get something from Fulham and Blackburn is another opportunity to get something," added Brown.

"I'm not bothered about what other people think, it's more about what I think, what the staff think and what the players think.

"We know what we are capable of and if we achieve that, we'll be okay this season."
