Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas could return to action next week after recovering from a hamstring injury.
The classy playmaker missed last weekend's opening-day win over West Brom and he will be sidelined for Saturday's trip to Fulham.
Fabregas is making good progress on his fitness and Wenger is hopeful he will be fit to tackle FC Twente in next week's UEFA Champions League qualifier at Emirates Stadium.
There was also good news on some of those who missed last week's season opener, including Cesc Fabregas.
"Well Cesc is doing very well in training," Wenger told the club's official website. "He won't be ready for Saturday but has a chance to be okay for Wednesday.
"We don't want to gamble on him for one game, we have to be patient."
