Van der Sar: December review
Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has revealed he will continue playing until he stops enjoying it.
The Dutchman, 37, has been a professional footballer for 18 years and is set to review his future in December.
Van der Sar accepts that he will know in his own mind whether he wants to carry on long before that, but has no plans to retire at the moment.
"I have said December because it is what I have done for the last two years and I feel comfortable with that," he said.
"But I don't want to put a time-line on it or talk too much about it.
"As long as I enjoy it and my manager and team-mates are happy you are in the team, that is my main focus point."
Ferguson commented in pre-season on how fresh Van der Sar looked, and the veteran shot-stopper realises that he will soon discover whether the old hunger is still there.
"Pre-season is over now, which means we start playing the games again," he said.
"I feel good about that. Of course, it is always easier when you win, so we will just see how long I can keep going."
