Everton have completed the signing of Louis Saha after the Frenchman successfully passed a medical.

Manchester United accepted an undisclosed fee for the injury-prone striker last week and he has now made his switch to Goodison Park.

Saha has agreed a two-year contract with the Toffees, with the option of a further 12 months.

David Moyes has endured a frustrating summer in the transfer market, but Saha's arrival will boost the Everton boss' attacking options.

However, Moyes has endured disappointment after Nigeria international Victor Obinna's work permit application was rejected.

Everton agreed a season-long loan deal for the Inter Milan winger's services, but an appeal for a permit has failed because Obinna has not played enough games for his country.

Moyes and Everton chairman Bill Kenwright attended an appeal hearing on Monday after an initial application was rebuffed, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Everton's head of PR & external affairs Ian Ross told the club's official website: "Chairman Bill Kenwright, manager David Moyes and club secretary David Harrison all attended a hearing in London and despite making a strong case the appeal was rejected on the basis that the player fell some way short of the required criteria."
