Luiz Felipe Scolari has insisted that Chelsea's failure to sign Robinho is 'not a problem'.

The Blues had hoped to bring in the Brazilian before Monday's transfer deadline but they refused to meet Real Madrid's asking price.

Robinho ended up making a shock move to Manchester City for a British record transfer fee and reports have suggested that Scolari was disappointed to miss out.

The Chelsea manager remains a fan of Robinho but is happy with the squad he has at his disposal despite not strengthening on Monday.

"This is not a problem for me," Scolari told the club's official website.

"I have many great players and I am very happy with my team. I am receiving new players from injuries as (Didier) Drogba will be back soon.

"(John Obi) Mikel recovers well. (Michael) Ballack and (Michael) Essien played with injuries but both are getting better.

"They are an example of the fantastic characters I have in my squad."

Not angry

Scolari also dismissed suggestions that he was upset with Chelsea, claiming that a deal was prevented by those close to Robinho.

"I don't think the people around Robinho were serious about him coming to Chelsea," he explained.

"They were more interested in the best business deal. But what I've said before about Robinho I say again now. He's a very good player. I only wish him the best.

"I have seen the newspapers and that they say I am unhappy or angry with the club. These statements are not true at all.

"I have not said this and I do not think this. I am very happy with this situation."
