Arzo: Sunderland link
Cesar Arzo has insisted he has not heard anything about a possible January switch to Sunderland.
The Black Cats have been strongly linked with the highly-rated defender and had him watched late last month.
A scout dispatched by Roy Keane saw Arzo play for Recreativo Huelva against Athletic Bilbao and it is understood the Irishman received a favourable report.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Recreativo from Villarreal, where he still has three years left on his current deal.
"My mission at the moment is just to play," said Arzo.
"I want to demonstrate that I can play at a bigger club, rumours [of Sunderland's interest] have arrived in the last few days but I honestly have not spoken with any English club."
Villarreal also insisted they had not held talks with anyone about a potential deal for Arzo.
"We have not had any form contact about the boy, but any decision on his future does depend on us," said a Villarreal spokesman.
