Abdoulaye Meite looks set to miss West Brom's clash with Manchester United, while Chris Brunt and Filipe Teixeira are both doubtful.

Brunt is set to join Teixeira in full training this week but Meite has been restricted to physio work as he looks to recover from a calf injury.

Meite picked up the problem at the end of August and Baggies boss Tony Mowbray has all but ruled him out of the match against Sir Alex Ferguson's Premier League champions on Saturday.

"Meite is a bit behind the other two," Mowbray told the club's official website.

"He hasn't actually been around our training sessions whereas Brunty was joining in the warm-ups and Teixeira is doing pretty much everything."

Teixeira has been sidelined for six months with knee injury and Brunt has missed West Brom's last two games with hamstring trouble.

Hopeful

Both players hope to feature at Old Trafford but Mowbray has insisted that he will not rush either man back.

He explained: "Hopefully we'll get Chris training this week and then we will see how he comes through that.

"It is dangerous to rush players back with hamstring problems. We will make a decision later in the week.

"We won't be pushing one player more than the other but I know they would both like to be in contention for the weekend.

"I don't envisage any problems with Filipe. He just needs games really.

"They all want to be available for Saturday but their bodies will tell them when they're ready.

"We don't want them to break down."
