Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger expects striker Eduardo to return from injury by mid-November.

The Croatia international suffered an horrific broken leg against Birmingham City back in February following a challenge by Martin Taylor.

Eduardo's rehabilitation has been progressing well and Wenger has confirmed he could return to action next month.

The 25-year-old signed for the Gunners from Dynamo Zagreb in 2007 and netted 12 goals in 31 appearances before he suffered the break.

Speaking at Arsenal's AGM on Thursday morning, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said: "Eduardo is three weeks away from playing competitive football."

Wenger later clarified Eduardo would be eased back into first-team action.

He told the club's official website: "What I mean by competitive football is joining in completely with a normal training session.

"After that he has to come back to match-fitness - but he is ahead of where we expected him to be and that is fantastic news."

Tomas Rosicky, meanwhile, looks unlikely to feature for Arsenal before the turn of the year.

Wenger added: "He should be back after Christmas."

The Czech playmaker has been sidelined since January with a troublesome hamstring injury.
