Hull City manager Phil Brown is keen to put his Football Association improper conduct fine in the past after describing the punishment as 'low-lying fruit'.

Brown was handed a £1,000 penalty and warned over his future conduct after admitting a charge relating to his touchline behaviour in the 5-0 defeat to Wigan on 30th August.

The Tigers boss kicked a water bottle in frustration and made his way to the stands before the referee even had a chance to dismiss him.

And Brown - who follows Sir Alex Ferguson in being penalised by the FA after the Manchester United boss was recently handed a two-match ban and a £10,000 fine - is now eager to put the event in the past because it was a 'small incident'.

"It was low-lying fruit, as the chairman (Paul Duffen) would put it, it was small stuff," Brown told Sky Sports News.

"It wasn't a case of the Sir Alex Fergusons of this world get fined £10,000 and I get £1,000, it was relative.

"It was purely a small incident that wasn't enlarged and shouldn't have been.

"They accepted my apology and I was reprimanded appropriately."
