Morrison: Disappointed with results
West Brom midfielder James Morrison has admitted that his side's 2-1 defeat by Wigan on Saturday nearly reduced him to tears.
The Baggies had led through Ishmael Miller's early second-half goal but the home side capitalised on sloppy West Brom defending to take all three points.
Morrison was one of West Brom's better performers on the day but the former Middlesbrough man should have sealed the game three minutes after Miller's opener.
The 22-year-old went one-on-one with Chris Kirkland but his effort across goal was saved by the Wigan keeper's outstretched leg.
Morrison told the Birmingham Mail: "We're really disappointed, devastated. We played so well again, we had chances but a lack of concentration and two sloppy goals let us down.
"We got a bit of luck for the first goal but then we had chances, I had a chance, to put the game out of reach.
"We let them back in with a sloppy goal. Robbo (Paul Robinson) is Mr Reliable, we can't put the blame on him.
"He's devastated and I felt like crying. He was gutted because that win would have meant everything to us.
"He will need picking up because he'll be kicking himself."
The pressure is mounting on Tony Mowbray's men not to get marooned at the bottom of the Premier League but with no win in their last eight league games the signs do not look good.
Mowbray has not seen his side collect three points since 4th October when they beat Fulham 1-0 at the Hawthorns.
Morrison cannot put his finger on what the Baggies need to change and even sarcastically hints that a more direct style of play may be better suited to his side.
He added: "I don't know what we can do, maybe we need to change the way we play. We could even go more direct. Maybe we need 6ft 4ins players and hoof it long!
"This is supposed to be a top league where the teams play good, attractive football and we're trying to do that but we seem to be punished by doing so."

Paul Merson can't separate Bolton and Blackburn - but thinks Stoke will see off Portsmouth.
Chelsea continued their relentless march at the top of the table as Arsenal lost to Sunderland and Manchester City held Liverpool.
A second-half goal from Darren Bent was enough to give Sunderland a shock 1-0 victory over Arsenal.
A Michael Essien brace helped Chelsea easily beat Wolves 4-0 to open up an eight point gap at the top.
Ten-man Hull City came from two goals down to share the points with West Ham in a 3-3 draw which had everything.
