Robbie Keane has dismissed reports that he could be set for a move away from Liverpool when the transfer window re-opens.

The Republic of Ireland international has endured a difficult start to his Liverpool career since his big-money arrival from Tottenham in the summer.

Keane has scored just four goals for Rafa Benitez's team and he has found himself in and out of the starting XI on occasions this season.

Rumours have suggested Tottenham are keen on bringing Keane back to White Hart Lane in January, but the striker insists he is staying put and that he will prove himself at Anfield.

Long time

"I've only been here a few months but there's nothing I can do about speculation, that's all part and parcel of being a footballer," Keane told the club's official website.

"If people want to create something that's not there it's up to them but there's no question in my mind, I will be a Liverpool player for a long time.

"People can write what they want and they can say what they want. They can keep writing but I'll be here past January."

Judged

Keane also feels he has been harshly judged so far and is confident that he will prove his critics wrong by the end of the campaign.

"I've only been here a few months and it takes a bit of time to settle into a new club. That's not an excuse but I deserve to be judged a little further down the line," added Keane.

"I'm not being big headed but you don't score a lot of goals like I've done over the last 10 years and suddenly it just goes away so I'm not worried about that."
