Sergio Peter has completed his move to Sparta Prague after falling down the pecking order at Blackburn.

The highly-rated winger has made 19 appearances in the Premier League since moving to Ewood Park in 2005.

However, he has not had many opportunities of late and has been allowed to link up with Sparta on a two-and-a-half year contract.

He secured the transfer after impressing on trial, and is delighted to be heading to Czech Republic.

"I have been here for a while and have not seen much so far, but I think I will like Prague," Peter told CTK.

"Now I have a new chance to get my career moving again. I prefer playing as left midfielder but am also used to playing on the right-hand side, so it will be only up to the coach."

Sparta currently trail leaders Slavia Prague by 10 points in the Gambrinus Liga and will hope Peter's arrival can help them challenge for honours.
