Pulis: Looking to give club a boost
Stoke City manager Tony Pulis is looking to add to his squad in January in a bid to lift the mood surrounding the club.
Pulis is hoping that the arrival of a number of new faces will give everyone associated with the club a much needed boost.
The Potters were embarrassed at the weekend when they were knocked out of the FA Cup in the third round by League One side Hartlepool.
The 2-0 defeat made it eight games without a win in all competitions and Pulis' men currently occupy the final relegation place in the Premier League table.
"The next couple of weeks will be important in respect of what we can bring in," the manager told The Sentinel.
"We are chasing certain targets and hopefully we are getting closer to them. Fingers crossed we are close with a couple, but we need more than that."
Stoke are less hopeful of signing Ivory Coast international Aruna Dindane after West Brom and Portsmouth entered the race to sign the striker.
The forward was being eyed as a possible loan signing from French club Lens and is reportedly keen on a move to England, but the Ligue 2 outfit want a permanent deal.
