I dedicate this win to the FA because I still haven't swallowed my four-game suspension. But I had a nice time with my family and a nice holiday.

Patrice Evra is hoping his injury is 'nothing' after dedicating Manchester United's win over Chelsea to the Football Association.

The French full-back returned from a domestic suspension to play a key role in the Premier League champions' 3-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday.

Evra had served a four-game ban for his part in a fracas at Stamford Bridge last season, but the defender was unhappy with his punishment.

United opted against an appeal, but Evra revealed he still feels bitter at the suspension meted out by the FA.

"I dedicate this win to the FA because I still haven't swallowed my four-game suspension," said Evra in The Sun.

"But I had a nice time with my family and a nice holiday."

Great result

Evra was forced off against Chelsea after creating the second goal, but hopes to be fit to face Wigan Athletic on Wednesday night.

He added: "I hope it's nothing. It's something I've had since the Romania match with France in October.

"My foot tensed up after the cross, but for the moment I'm just thinking of the victory.

"It was a great match. It's a long time since we scored so many goals so I hope it helps us get our confidence back.

"But the league title is not a sprint, it's a long-distance race and we will have to keep chalking up the wins."
